Lion Fish Derby

On saturday the 18th of February 2017 the Bonaire National Marine Park will be hosting a lion fish derby for buddy teams.

Who: Bonaire registered LF hunters
What: BNMP Lionfish derby, single day competition
Hunting Area: BNMP regular dive sites including Klein Bonaire
(WSNP regular opening hours and no diving in the reserve’s this time sorry we’ll do that as well later this year)

The concept of this Derby:
Single day competition. Individuals and teams begin competing on Saturday 18th at sunrise and are required to bring their catch to the scoring station all day until 9pm. The majority of fish can be cleaned (removal of spines and guts not filleted) at the site collected prior to offering them at the station. Each fish is counted, however only extremely large (> 40cm) and extremely small (< 10cm) ones are measured and need to be presented at the measuring station as a whole for exact measurements. After counting and measuring all fish will be returned to the catchers for personal consumption or sale.
Video capture’s of killshots do not necessarily need to be recorded during the derby. They can be send prior or after the derby to: email@example.com , closing date for sending in the video’s is Sunday February 19th.
