Saturday morning, January 27 from 9am to 11 am, STINAPA together with the Junior Rangers will have beach clean up at Lagun. We need all the help we can get. It’s about a month ago that there was a huge invasion of sargassum weed at east coast and also at Lagun. A lot of effort was made to get rid of the sargassum at lagun before it started to decompose. Join our Junior Rangers and staff in the regular clean up of the adopted beach at Lagun. This area is important for wildlife and it has some mangroves on the shores. Plastic debris washing in from the Atlantic ocean so this area needs to be cleaned regularly to keep it from filling in with trash. Bring water shoes and a hat. Every year STINAPA together with students of group six of all primary schools on Bonaire joins BonDoet with a coastal cleanup. Last year the students filled 150 extra large garbage bags with plastic trash that was deposited on our coast by the waves.Find out more »
