The tiger grouper (Mycteroperca tigris) is a big robust predator. Any delicious small fish passing by he will suck into his mouth. His colours are remarkable. Look at the stripes on the sides of his body! He is often reddish with vertical stripes and that also gave him the name “Tiger”.
He will grow up to 86 cm (35in) long and he can become around 4,5 kg ( 10 pounds). Usually you will find this grouper in rocky areas and coral reefs up to a depth of 20 meters (65 feet).
