Davy’s Naked-Backed Bat (Pteronotus davyi)
It is a small insect-eating, cave-dwelling bat and is found throughout South and Central America. Only one individual of the Davy’s Naked-backed Bat has been recorded for Bonaire (year 2009). This little bat weighs 5 to 10 g and its wings are attached along the mid-back, covering the dorsal fur which gives the naked-backed appearance. They are adapted to hunt insects inside the vegetation.
