Climate Resilience Project

Collaborative research between STINAPA and Florida State University funded by Lenfest Oceans Program.

Project Description

Understand and help find solutions for impacts of climate change within the Bonaire National Marine Park

We are researching how climate change affects Bonaire’s marine environment by evaluating stressors like high temperatures that cause coral bleaching, diseases and recreational impacts. Our goal is to identify which areas are more exposed or protected from stressors to predict future reef health. This information will be used in STINAPA’s ongoing ecological monitoring programs to help with better detection and response to climate change events.
