Kite and Windsurfing

Ride the Wind Responsibly: Kite and Windsurfing Rules & Regulations

Embrace the thrill of wind and water, while honoring the precious marine environment. Navigate the waves with these rules to ensure a harmonious experience for all.

  • Marine Park Access:
    • Kitesurfing: Only allowed at the entry and exit zone of Atlantis within the Marine Park.
    • Windsurfing: Exclusively at Lac Bay within the Marine Park.
  • Open Waters Access:
    • Beyond the Marine Park: Enjoy kite and windsurfing in the deep blue, maintaining a respectful 75m distance from shore.
    • Foiling: Surfing with a foil is allowed in the dark blue waters at least 75m from shore. Windsurfing with a foil is currently condoned in Lac as it is not zoned in yet. Conversations are currently being held with direct stakeholders to discuss a new zonation for Lac Bay. We refer for more information about Lac zonation to our social media channels.
  • No Klein Bonaire Landings:
    • Respect Klein Bonaire: No kite or windsurfing here, respecting a 500m buffer zone.
    • Starting or landing from Klein Bonaire is prohibited, safeguarding its pristine allure.
  • Explore Responsibly:
    • Downwinders by Permission: Embark on downwinders with STINAPA’s written consent. Request at marinepark@stinapa.org.
  • Safety First:
    • Mind Divers/swimmers/fishermen boats: Stay within acceptable zones and scan for divers beneath the waves, ensuring their safety as you ride.

Thank you for following the rules!
